Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Duksi mobile application and related services at myduksi.com (collectively, the "Service"). Duksi ("we", "our", or "us") provides a platform for madrasas and Quran schools to manage students, staff, parents, attendance, progress, and communications.
By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
Service provider: Duksi operates the Service described in these Terms. For questions, contact support@myduksi.com.
2. Eligibility and accounts
2.1 Who may use Duksi
The Service is intended for madrasa administrators, teachers, and parents or guardians who have been invited or authorised to access a specific madrasa on Duksi. You must be at least 18 years old to create or manage an account, unless you are a parent or guardian accessing information about your own child with appropriate authorisation from the madrasa.
2.2 Account roles
- Admins — create and manage a madrasa, invite teachers and parents, configure settings, and oversee institutional data
- Teachers — manage assigned classes, record attendance and progress, and communicate with parents and admins
- Parents — view information relating to their own children and communicate with teachers and admins
2.3 Account security
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date
- You must notify your madrasa administrator and support@myduksi.com promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- You may sign in using email/password or Google Sign-In where available; use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's terms
3. Description of the Service
Duksi provides tools that may include, depending on your role:
- Student profiles, class assignments, and enrolment management
- Attendance tracking and Quran memorisation progress records
- Announcements, messaging, and push notifications
- Teacher and parent access controlled by madrasa administrators
- Profile photos and institutional settings for your madrasa
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available indefinitely.
4. Madrasa administrator responsibilities
If you are a madrasa administrator, you are responsible for your institution's use of Duksi, including:
- Ensuring that teachers and parents are invited only with appropriate authority
- Obtaining any consent required before entering student data, including data about minors
- Managing access within your madrasa and removing users who should no longer have access
- Ensuring that information entered into Duksi is accurate and used for legitimate educational purposes
- Complying with applicable laws relating to education records and child data in your jurisdiction
Duksi provides the technology platform. Your madrasa controls who can access its data and how that data is used within the institution.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Access data belonging to madrasas, students, or users you are not authorised to view

- Use the Service for unrelated commercial activity without our written consent
- Misrepresent your identity, role, or affiliation with a madrasa
- Copy, scrape, or reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
6. User content and communications
You may submit content through the Service, including messages, announcements, notes, photos, and educational records ("User Content"). You retain responsibility for User Content you submit.
- You grant Duksi a limited licence to host, store, display, and transmit User Content solely to operate the Service for your madrasa
- You represent that you have the right to submit User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law
- Messages and announcements may be visible to other authorised users within your madrasa according to app permissions
We do not routinely monitor all communications but may review content where necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to reports, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Student data and parental access
Student profiles and educational records are created and managed by authorised madrasa staff. Parents and guardians may access only information relating to their own children, as permitted by the madrasa.
If you believe student information is incorrect, entered without proper authority, or visible to the wrong people, contact your madrasa administrator first. You may also contact us at support@myduksi.com.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information, including student and children's data.
By using Duksi, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. Madrasa administrators are responsible for informing parents and staff how the institution uses Duksi.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Duksi name, logo, software, design, and documentation, is owned by Duksi or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or our branding.
You may use the Service only as permitted under these Terms. You may not use Duksi trademarks without our prior written permission.
10. Service availability and changes
We strive to keep Duksi reliable and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, network issues, or events outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. Where practicable, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that significantly affect your use of the app.
11. Fees
Duksi may be offered free of charge during certain periods or for certain features. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we will provide applicable pricing and payment terms before you are charged.
Third-party costs, such as mobile data or internet access, are your responsibility.
12. Suspension and termination
12.1 Your right to stop using Duksi
You may stop using the Service at any time. Parents and teachers may request account deletion through support@myduksi.com or our support page.
12.2 Madrasa deletion
Madrasa administrators may delete their Duksi from within the app where that option is available. Deletion may remove or unlink associated institutional data according to in-app flows and our data retention practices.
12.3 Our right to suspend or terminate access
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, including:
- Individual user accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk
- Madrasa accounts that are misused, inactive, or in breach of applicable law
- Access where required by law or to protect users, the public, or the Service
Where appropriate, we will provide notice before suspension or termination. In urgent cases involving fraud, abuse, or security threats, we may act immediately.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet every educational, administrative, or regulatory requirement of your institution. Madrasa administrators remain responsible for their own compliance obligations and record-keeping practices.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Duksi and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Duksi from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply.
Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@myduksi.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days. Subject to applicable law, courts in Kenya shall have jurisdiction over disputes that cannot be resolved informally.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date
- Notify users through the app or by email where changes are significant
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
18. General provisions
- Entire agreement — these Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and Duksi regarding the Service
- Severability — if any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect
- No waiver — failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision
- Assignment — you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
